Lakes, Glaciers, Mountains and Whales

Magallanes named this region because of the natives that where found when he arrived. They were called "Patagones" (which means "big foot"). It's one of the biggest natural reserves in the world which lodges penguins, marine elephants, whales, thousands of birds and a great variety of autochthonous species.

The eternal Glaciers called "Ventisqueros" are very famous and amazing. This huge area has 800 square kilometres with a density of 1 inhabitant per 2 skm. The region can be divided in two: Atlantic and Andean Patagonia. We find in the first one, Peninsula Valdes; meanwhile among Andean Patagonia we can find the mountain cities of Bariloche, San Martin de los Andes and Villa La Angostura, all located in the lakes area, going south there are Lago Argentino and the glaciers area, and finally the southernmost Tierra del Fuego.
